Dear Chaparral Families,
As both another incredible year at Chaparral and our time as your PFC presidents come to a close, we want to thank the amazing community that makes this school so special. To our volunteers, families, teachers, and staff — thank you for your support, generosity, and dedication to our students and to one another. Chaparral is truly a one-of-a-kind community, and we feel so lucky to be part of it.
This year was filled with memorable events, from our Family Fun Day to welcome our community back from summer, to watching our Cubs shine onstage at the Chaparral Music Awards, to then ending the year under the stars at our Family Dance. All of these events, and more, would not be possible without our incredible volunteers. These events help make Chaparral such a special place for our kids.
Thank you to our amazing teachers and staff, our PFC Executive Board, Committee Chairs, and all of our Chaparral parent community. We are incredibly grateful to Principal Goldstein for her support of the PFC. It has been so great to be on this journey with you as our partner. Thank you for your support of all of our ideas, including keeping our Science Fair going for the second year. We are so glad to have started a new event at Chaparral that we hope will continue for many years.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Yollis and Ms. Welti for their well-deserved retirement. Mrs. Yollis – you have touched countless students’ lives and your dedication to Chaparral is exemplary of what a special place our school is. Ms. Welti – you hold a special place in our hearts as we have worked with you day in and day out to bring all of our events to life. We are so thankful for all of your guidance and support of all that the PFC does throughout the year.
As we look back on our time as PFC Presidents, it has been a true honor for us both to serve the Chaparral community. We are so grateful to so many of you who give so generously of your time and have had the most incredible team supporting everything we have done. To our families – Chris, Madison, Catherine, Jack, Declan, Quinn, and Conor – thank you for your support and patience on this journey. We know you will enjoy not hearing us say “we just need to do one quick thing for PFC” quite so much in the future!
We know that next year the community is in great hands with Marissa Daly and Courtney Daly (no relation!) as your incoming PFC Co-Presidents. We wish them the best of luck.
We hope you all have a relaxing summer, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for 2026-2027!
With gratitude!
Krista Mulligan and Nicole Perkin
